On Tuesday Medford voters went to the polls to vote for candidates for Mayor, School Committee and City Council.
Newcomer Adam Knight won a seat on the Medford City Council that became open following the retirement of long-time City Councilor Robert Maiocco.
Incumbent city councilors Michael Marks, Breanna Lungo-Koehn, Paul Camuso, Fred Dello Russo, Jr., Rick Caraviello, and Robert Penta were re-elected. Jim Morse, Robert Cappucci, Mark Crowley, Neil Osborne, Robert FitzPatrick, and Jeanne Martin were not successful in their bids for Council.
Mayor Michael McGlynn, the longest serving mayor in the state, successfully fought off challenger Anthony D’Antonio to win re-election to his fourteenth consecutive term. According to unofficial results, McGlynn earned 5,775 votes while D’Antonio received 3,092 votes. Mayor McGlynn won every single ward and precinct.
The race for School Committee was uncontested, with each of the six sitting School Committee members re-elected. Unofficial results show Ann Marie Cugno topping the ticket.

listening to my first council meeting in quite sometime and Adam knight brings a vast array of no nonsense breath of fresh air and could finally beat the current mayor MaGlyn that needs to go. Out with old and in with the new. My hats off to Adam Knight.
