City Council to Review Property Tax Rates Tuesday

The Medford City Council will hold a Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, December 3 to discuss property tax rates for 2014.

Currently, Medford’s residential property tax rate is $12.36, which results in an average tax bill of $4,307.46 for a single-family home. The 2013 commercial, industrial, and person property tax rate is $24.39. The new rate will be set in December and will be in effect as of January 1, 2014.

Medford’s Chief Assessor, Ed O’Neil, members of the Board of Assessors, Finance Director Ann Baker, and Budget Director Stephanie Muccini Burke have been invited to Tuesday’s Committee of the Whole. The meeting will begin at 6:00PM in Room 207 at Medford City Hall. The Council’s regular meeting will follow at 7PM in the Council Chamber.
