Tara Felts, 30, of Medford was arrested on Friday morning along with a homeless man for allegedly breaking into a jewelry store in Concord, according to police.
Felts and Clifton Pinion were arrested early Friday morning after leading police on a brief chase through town. The pair caught police attention following a commercial burglar alarm at 4AM for Artinian Jewelers on Main Street. Police responding to the scene found the door pried open and were quickly able to catch up with the suspects after receiving a description of the getaway car. Police found Felts and Pinion about a mile away from the alleged break-in but the suspects fled, leading police on a three mile chase around town. Police picked up Felts after the chase ended but Pinion fled on foot, eventually being apprehended with the help of a police dog.
Police said they could see in plain view racks of jewelry inside the car.
Concord Police were assisted by the Lincoln Police Department during the pursuit and investigation.
“Quick thinking and actions by Concord Police, combined with the strong partnerships we have built with our neighboring law enforcement agencies, resulted in the quick arrest and apprehension of two potentially dangerous suspects,” Chief O’Connor said. “I commend all of our officers and the Troopers involved for their hard work this morning in ensuring that these suspects were captured without any harm done to members of our community, despite the suspects’ dangerous and reckless actions.”
Felts has been charged with breaking and entering during the nighttime to commit a felony, receiving stolen property, and malicious destruction of Property over $250.
