‘Holiday Cookie Walk’ Dec. 13th
|On Saturday December 13, 2014 there will be a “Holiday Cookie Walk†Fundraiser at Sanctuary UCC, 458 High Street in West Medford. Delicious homemade, decorative cookies will be on sale, by the pound, from 11am until all the cookies are gone! Patrons will be able to choose their preferred selection from a wide variety of cookies baked by both individual and commercial members of the community, including Magnificent Muffins, CB Scoops and Whole Foods Market. Decorative cookie boxes and plates will also be for sale. Or take a break from holiday busyness and come in to enjoy a warm beverage and cookies (a cup of coffee, tea or hot cider plus 2 cookies for $3.00).
All proceeds from the cookie sale will go to benefit the Lakota People and support organizations on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, one of the poorest locations in our nation. Sanctuary UCC (formerly known as the West Medford Congregational Church) has worked with organizations on the Pine Ridge Reservation for a number of years. These currently include Re-Member, Earth Tipi, Lakota Sewing Circle, Hoka Coffee, and the Oglala Lakota College. Medford residents may recall the very successful silent auction held by the church a few years ago to benefit the same Pine Ridge community; Captain Barry Clemente’s message on one’s voicemail was a very popular auction item! Please stop by on December 13th to help Sanctuary UCC make this an equally successful fundraiser for those less fortunate than ourselves.
