Lady Mustang Hockey Team Blanks Shawsheen

The girls varsity hockey team kicked off 2015 with a 7-0 victory over Shawsheen Tech on Saturday.

The Lady Mustangs used a balanced offensive attack, with eight players picking up at least one point. Eighth graders Christina Gesualdi and Brenna Forbes both scored two goals. Samantha McLaughlin, Adrienne Porrazzo, and Mamie Powers also added a goal a piece. In goal, sophomore Trisha MacLean and senior Ashley Rodriquez combined for the shutout.

Next up for the Medford is an away game Monday at Woburn at 6pm. The Lady Mustangs and the Tanners met last year in the MIAA state tournament. The Lady Mustangs return home Wednesday at 7pm vs Marblehead. The Magicians have a record of 3-1-1.
