Lady Mustang Hockey Team Ties Marblehead

On the coldest night in four years the Medford Mustang girl’s varsity hockey team skated to a 4-4 tie with the Marblehead Header’s at LoConte rink.

The Lady Mustangs started the scoring off with four minutes remaining in the first period when defenseman Adrienne Porrazzo scored on a wrist shot from the blue line, her fourth goal in the last four games. The lead was short lived as Marblehead’s Brooke Keough tied the game the next shift.

During the second period Medford skated out to a three goal lead thanks to goals from Kayli Lanzilli, Riley Lynch, and Christina Gesualdi. After Medford’s three consecutive goals, the Header’s score the final three goals of the game, including the tying goal with thirteen seconds remaining.

The Lady Mustangs will next take the ice vs. Masconomet on Wednesday, January 14th at 7:00pm at LoConte rink.
