Lady Mustang Hockey Team Defeats Matignon

On Saturday, January 18th the Medford High girls varsity hockey team skated past Matignon 7-2.

The Lady Mustangs led 4-0 in the first period. Medford’s offensive attack was led by sophomore forward Ailish Fallon’s three goals and senior defenseman Adrienne Porrazzo’s two goals. Christina Gesualdi and Nicole Mortell also added a goal apiece. The defensive unit of Porrazzo, MaryKate Cullinane, Julia Shanahan, Abby Vigliotte, and Trinity Jackson helped goalies Trisha MacLean and Ashley Rodriquez secure the victory. The Warriors’ goals were scored by freshmen Courtney Hardy and Gina Grasso.

The Lady Mustangs continue their five game home stand against Winthrop on Monday at noon. The Lady Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 8-1. On Wednesday Medford hosts Beverly at 7pm. The Panthers currently have a record of 5-2-1.
