Bill Monbouquette, 78

Local baseball legend Bill Monbouquette has passed away at the age of 78. Below are some photos of Monbouquette, a former Mustang who continued to be actively involved with Mustang sports and was often seen at baseball games and other events.
The Red Sox posted a video tribute to Monbo on their website.

Monbouquette and his wife, Josephine, with his award in front of the Hall of Fame exhibit area outside of Medford High School’s gym in December of 2012; he had been recognized for the 50th anniversary of his no-hitter against the Chicago White Sox.

In 2009 Monbouquette was one of the expert instructors at the Mustang summer baseball camp.

Monbouquette was honored with a special citation from the Massachusetts State Legislature in August 2008 for his work in raising awareness for bone marrow donations. In December 2008 the boys hockey team dedicated the season to Monbouquette; he is pictured his wife and MHS Hockey captains Brett Cavallaro, Steve Servideo, Josef Danilchuk, and Steve Mearn.
