Celtic Music, Dance Program at Library Feb. 3
|The Barra MacNeils, a family band from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, are coming to Chevalier Theatre in Medford on March 7 for a Celtic music and dance performance!
On Tuesday, February 3, at 7 p.m., come to the Medford Public Library to learn about the driving fiddle playing and energetic stepdancing that mark the Cape Breton style, as discussed and performed by two local artists.
Laura Y. Kozachek has studied Cape Breton fiddling with Kimberly Fraser of Sydney, Cape Breton, and frequently plays at the Canadian American Club of Massachusetts in Watertown.
Jen Schoonover has performed Scottish dance at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center and performs with Highland Dance Boston.
Presented by the City of Medford, Friends of Chevalier Auditorium and Gene Mack Gym, Chevalier Theatre Organ Society, Chevalier Auditorium Commission, and Canadian American Club of Massachusetts.
