MassDOT: Wellington Maintenance Facility 100% Operational

On Thursday afternoon state transportation officials said the MBTA’s Wellington maintenance facility in Medford was “100% operational.” The facility is being used for train repairs and to increase the number of available trains, according to the latest transportation update. Over 1.2 million cubic feet of snow has been removed from train tracks as the MBTA attempts to restore its service to normal. Orange Line service is currently available at all stations between Oak Grove and Forest Hills, with trains running every twelve minutes. The Orange Line, due to its miles of tracks above ground, has been severely affected by the heavy snow fall.
