Medford Woman Held Without Bail in Stabbing

A Medford woman is being held without bail following an alleged stabbing incident that took place over the weekend.
Laura Maloney, 49, is accused of stabbing the man she was living with on Rockwell Avenue. She was arraigned Monday on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed assault to murder, according to information released by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan. Maloney is being held without bail and a dangerousness hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” said District Attorney Ryan. “We are continuing to assess the circumstances surrounding this stabbing, speaking with potential witnesses, and gathering evidence.”
Authorities were alerted about the domestic incident on early Sunday morning by Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett, where the victim was being treated. The victim is currently hospitalized and is in stable condition, according to information released by DA Ryan.
