Osborne Announces City Council Campaign
|Local Civil Rights Attorney and Community Leader Neil Osborne is running for Medford City Council. In a move that surprised no one in Medford, the highly engaged community leader’s campaign announced today that he is again a candidate for Medford City Council. In the video release, the candidate talks about his appreciation for the people who live in Medford through 45 years of calling Medford his home.
Attorney Osborne is seen in the video frankly discussing the failures of current elected officials’ ability to address critical resident concerns such as a Public Safety building that is unable to house arrestees because of the Board of Health’s safety concerns, crumbing roads, an under staffed Department of Public Works, curbs and sidewalks that are not ADA compliant as well as the disastrous implementation of a new parking program.
“I want to change the way things are done before the appeal of living here is just a distant memory,” stated Neil Osborne.
A product of Medford’s public school system, Neil Osborne graduated from Medford High School in 1982. After earning undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ flagship school, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1986 and 1991, Attorney Osborne attended law school at Suffolk University, graduating and passing the bar exam in 1994. Choosing to raise a family in Medford with Maria L. Scott his wife of 15 years, the couple are raising a beautiful daughter, Drexel Osborne, who attends the Andrews Middle School in Medford.
The campaign video further outlines his commendable community service and leadership roles in a myriad of community organizations such as: President of the NAACP’s regional branch, Mystic Valley Area; President of Medford Health Matters, a non-profit community coalition of Medford organizations focused on fostering an environment of wellness and healthy living in the City. Neil Osborne also serves as Vice President of West Medford Community Center; Vice Chair of the Trustee Board of the West Medford Baptist Church, and serves on the Boards of Mystic Valley Elder
Service an appointment by Medford’s Counsel on Aging and the Medford High School Alumni Association as well as serving an appointment to the City’s Community Development Board.
Osborne closes the video with his plan to be out in the streets campaigning to hear the needs and concerns of Medford residents so that as your City Councilor, you will hear your voice, heard in City Hall Cambers. Neil Osborne is an Accessible Accountable Advocate for all of Medford.
