Local Cellist Wins Band Camp Competition

Medford High School rising junior Iverson Eliopoulos is the New England Music Camp’s Summer 2015 2nd Session Concerto Competition Winner. Eliopoulos, who has attended the camp for the past three summers, was a finalist last year, according to his proud father, Steve.

“Iverson…[is a product of] the Medford school system’s string program and music program…His entire start and beginnings were right here in the 4th grade with Ms. Chang,” said Steve, noting that some school districts have cut music from the curriculum. “Ms. Chang and Mr. Szykniej are pillars of [a] Medford Music program that has produced many fine young musicians, singers, etc.”
