Skerry Selected to Lead Mustang Boys Basketball Team

Medford native John Skerry is the new head coach of the Mustang boys basketball team, according to Medford High School Athletic Director Bob Maloney.

Skerry grew up in Medford and played basketball for Malden Catholic and Tufts University. Skerry also received his Master’s degree in education from Tufts. He has previously served as an assistant basketball coach at Tufts and Suffolk.

“John is a perfect fit for Medford High School,” said Maloney. “He is a homegrown kid who has played at both the high school and collegiate level and comes from a great family basketball gene pool.”

Skerry’s older brother, Patrick, is the head basketball coach for Townsend’s Division 1 program and his younger brother, Brian, was a standout player at Medford High School and Tufts University.
