‘Beach Party’ Taking Place Last Weekend of Summer
|The Medford Educational Foundation (MEF) cordially invites residents and friends to a Wright’s Pond kickoff beach party on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 3pm to 7pm to celebrate becoming Medford’s newest educational nonprofit and raise awareness of how the MEF will support teacher innovation in the classroom.
Suggested entrance donation $10 or more – with additional opportunities to honor Medford public school teachers and
staff available inside. Thanks to the City’s generosity, the gates of Wright’s Pond on Elm Street in North Medford will be opened for this one special day on the last weekend of summer. Special features will include:
– Live local music, including: Trail Mix, 3D Acoustic, and Principal Jake Edwards’ Band – special guest appearance
by Grammy-nominated Alastair Moock
– Beach balls, beach games, sandcastle-building contests, and more!
– A chance to honor your favorite Medford Public School teachers and staff (look for our table!)
– Local food vendors, including: Roving Lunch Box, Lisa’s Family Pizzeria, and C.B. Scoops
– itsy FITsy demo – Based at East Medford’s Dance Haven, Daniella DiDiego created itsy FITsy to promote wellness for children through fitness.
– “Friends of the Fells†scavenger hunt – hosted by Neil Anderson, Executive Director, Friends of the Fells
– Tai Chi demo at sunset – hosted by local instructor Arthur Goodridge
This “sand-tastic” event will be rain or shine (heavy rain will cancel) from 3pm until dusk. (Parking available at Wright’s Pond or walk up from Flynn Rink.)
