Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society Awarded Grant from “I’m Animal Friendly” License Plate Funds

Pet friendly license plateMerrimack River Feline Rescue Society (MRFRS) is pleased to announce it is a 2015 recipient of a grant from the MA “I’m Animal Friendly” license plate program. These funds will be used towards the low-cost spay and neuter services performed by MRFRS’s Catmobiles, two mobile surgical clinics that travel throughout Eastern and Central Massachusetts, including Medford.

Liz Pease, Executive Director of MRFRS, said: “The funding from MAC’s license plate program allows us to make our already affordable Catmobile pricing even more attractive to individuals seeking low-cost alternatives for spaying or neutering their cats. Since its inception the program has had a profound impact on pet overpopulation in the Commonwealth.”

The “I’m Animal Friendly” license plates are a program of the Massachusetts Animal Coalition. Funds raised through sales of the plates are dispersed annually to animal welfare organizations that demonstrate a need for and provide low-cost spay/neuter services. “I’m Animal Friendly” license plates are easy to order online – no need to go to RMV!
