Caraviello Selected to Lead Medford Kiwanis Once Again
|City Councilor Rick Caraviello was recently inducted as 90th President of the Medford Kiwanis. Rick became the Kiwanis Club’s first ever second time President in their history. In his first term as President Rick was able to attain Distingished Status. Rick currently chairs the Literacy Program for the club for the past 13 years and has distributied over 30,000 books to all Medford Public and Parochial schools. Each 1st Grade Student gets 2 books and each 3rd grade student gets 3 books for their summer reading to keep and exchange with other students. We also partner with the Summer Reading Program at the Medford Public Library.
The Medford Kiwanis is a service club in Medford the raises in excess of $45,000 and donates all funds to many groups and organizations in Medford. Some of the groups that benefactors of the Kiwanis generosity are, Scholarship’s for Medford students, Friday Night Program for Adults with Special Needs, Literacy Program, Hallmark Health, both High School and Youth Sports, The Builder’s Club, Key Club, and Circle K Club. This Club also sponsors Senior Lunches and a Thanksgiving Dinner at the Senior Center and the donates 100 turkey dinners to the St. Francis Food Bank just to name a few.
