MA Mayors Bid Farewell to Mayor McGlynn
|On December 15 the Massachusetts Municipal Association held a farewell reception for Medford Mayor Michael J. McGlynn, the Dean of the Mayors, and the longest serving Mayor in the Commonwealth. Mayor McGlynn will be retiring after 28 years as Mayor of the City of Medford.
“Mayor McGlynn taught all of us about the importance of establishing relationships…with each other, the State House, the federal government and in national organizations such as the United States Conference of Mayors and the National League of Cities,†said Boston Mayor Marty Walsh. “Mayor McGlynn emphasized the importance of having a unified voice from the Mayors in conjunction with the Massachusetts Municipal Association. He will be sorely missed.â€
Geoff Beckwith, Director of the Massachusetts Municipal Association, wished the Mayor well upon his retirement and presented him with a donation, on behalf of all the Mayors, to the Krystle Campbell Peace Garden.
