Medford Police Officers Save Family from Fire
|– Allison Goldsberry
On Monday morning a couple of quick-thinking and brave Medford Police officers saved a family from a fire at a Main Street home.
According to information released by Medford Police, Officer Paul Giordano and Officer Sheila Quinn had responded to the fire as police normally would to assist the fire department. However, the officers were the first on scene and didn’t hesitate to help when they were told a mother and two babies were still inside the burning home.
Officers Giordano and Quinn entered the home, which was filled with thick, black smoke, and found the mother and twin babies on the second floor. Officer Giordano took the babies while Officer Quinn helped the mother escape from the house.
According to police, the officers and the family were all in good condition.
Channel 5 News interviewed the family and Officers Giordano and Quinn on Monday.
The cause of the fire, which is believed to have started in the basement, is still under investigation.
