Mayor Burke Announces New Staff

Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke announced today the names of persons who will make up the staff of the Mayor’s office. In addition to these positions, Mayor Burke also announced the appointment of a new Medford Treasurer and Collector as well as an interim Director to the Department of Public Works.

The Mayor oversees a municipal budget of $155.6 million and the 1,450 employees who make up the total workforce in the various city departments.

Mayor Burke stated “I am more than confident that my staff will readily respond to the inquiries of our residents and address their concerns pertaining to the delivery of services and all other aspects of city government. It is with enthusiasm that I look forward to the work that lies ahead.”

The staff persons and appointed officials are Teresa Walsh, Linda Coletti, Jeanine Femino-Camuso, Lauren Feltch, Annie Sgroi, Ann Marie Irwin and Brian Kerins.

Teresa Walsh will serve as Director of Personnel to the Mayor. In this role Attorney Walsh will manage and direct the operations of the Mayor’s office and staff. Recently Walsh worked as a lecturer at Tufts University and the University of Massachusetts School of Law teaching law courses. Walsh served as a Massachusetts assistant attorney general for over a decade and represented the Commonwealth in all phases of litigation in state and federal courts resulting in published opinions in the criminal and employment law areas. Early in her career she was an associate attorney at a global law firm in Boston, MA. Walsh received a B.A. degree in Political Science and International Relations from Tufts University; an MSc degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science, [University of London, U.K.]; and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.

Linda Coletti will serve as Secretary to the Mayor planning, coordinating and scheduling details for the administration. Coletti is a life-long resident of Medford having attended Medford Public Schools. Coletti began her work with the City in the Department of Public Works. In 2003, she transferred to the Mayor’s office where she worked under the direction of Mayor McGlynn and Directors of Budgets and Personnel, Richard Lee and Mayor Burke. Coletti served as Secretary to the Board of Appeals for several years and also served as Secretary of the Schools Reuse Committee.

Jeanine Femino-Camuso will serve as Assistant to the Director of Personnel, planning and implementing personnel and human resource programs and objectives. Femino-Camuso is a life long resident of Medford having attended Medford public schools. Femino-Camuso previously spent the last 16 years in the insurance industry with a focus on client service for financial, executive and professional risk clients. Femino-Camuso received an Associates degree in Science from Newbury College School of Business & Management.

Lauren Feltch will serve as an Executive Assistant focusing on the City Council & Community Relations Liaison managing communications and relationships to provide customer service and resolve community concerns. Feltch previously worked in the Office of Governor Deval Patrick as Special Assistant and Scheduler to the Chief of Staff and most recently as Assistant Press Secretary at the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Feltch is a life-long resident of Medford. She received a B.A. degree in Communications from Merrimack College and is pursuing a Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication at Northeastern University.

Annie Sgroi will serve as an Executive Assistant focusing on Cultural & Business Relations Liaison managing relations with the business and cultural communities to provide customer service and conduct policy research. Sgroi previously worked as a volunteer coordinator on Congressman Joe Kennedy III’s 2012 Congressional campaign and interned with the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus and the Massachusetts Democratic Party. Sgroi received a B.A. degree in Political Science from Wellesley College.

Ann Marie Irwin will serve as the Treasurer and Collector providing the Mayor with updates on current funds of the city, tax deeds of land held by the city and provide courteous service to all. Irwin most recently worked as an Attorney for the Massachusetts General Court. Irwin served as the Chief Legal Counsel for both the Committee on Criminal Justice and the Committee on the Judiciary for several years. In addition, Irwin served as an Attorney and Policy Director for the Honorable Kevin W. Fitzgerald within the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Irwin received a B.A. degree from Boston College and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.

Brian Kerins will serve for a ninety day appointment as the Interim Commissioner of Public Works. Kerins recently served as the Operations Manager for B4 Productions and the Operating Engineer for American Sweeping/AERO Snow Removal. Kerins previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Public Works for the City of Medford for many years. Kerins attended programs for state managers at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
