Benefit Concert for World Food Program Feb. 27th

As the Syrian Civil War enters its fifth year, millions of internally and externally displaced Syrian refugees are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. On January 11, 2016, World Food Program trucks carrying over 500 tons of desperately needed food and other supplies entered the besieged towns of Madaya, in rural Damascus and Fouaa and Kefraya in rural Idlib, in Syria, where around 60,000 people are believed to have been trapped since October with no access to food and other essential humanitarian supplies. Yet despite the crucial role the organization is playing in keeping four million internally displaced refugees alive all over Syria, the World Food Program is dangerously underfunded. We can and must act.

On Saturday, February 27 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Grace Church, 160 High Street, join Grace Church and members of the Medford Interfaith community for a benefit concert featuring local artists, including the Boston Children’s Theater show choir, Monty Hill (soloist, Ball in the House), and Sisters in Song. We’ll enjoy homemade Syrian supper (vegetarian with vegan and gluten-free options) and a silent auction. A children’s program will be provided.

Boston Children’s Theatre Show Choir, featuring over 30 teens from nearly two dozen communities in and surrounding Boston. Led by Boston Children’s Theatre’s Musical Director, Austin Davey, the BCT Show Choir performs a wide range of music theatre, pop and holiday repertoire.

Monty Hill, soloist for the professional Boston-based a capella group Ball in the House.

Sisters in Song, a local group founded by Grace Church parishioner Jeff Pietrantoni.
