Mustang Softball Team Clinches 4th Straight GBL Title

The Medford High School softball team clinched their fourth straight Greater Boston League title with a 14-2 home victory over Malden on Monday.
The Mustangs were led by senior captain Ashley Eisnor, who pitched a one-hitter and struck out eleven batters in five innings. Eisnor also banged out four hits and drove in four runs, according to Head Coach Jack Dempsey.
Eisnor is one of the top players in the state and is well on her way to her fourth straight league MVP title. She has nine wins and 110 strikeouts in seventy-one innings so far this season. She is also batting .613 and has twenty-two RBIs.
Senior captain Gigi Braga (three hits, four runs, two RBIs and two stolen bases) and sophomore Halle Farrell (three hits, three runs, two doubles, and two RBIs) led the Mustang offense. Other key players included freshman Brenna Forbes (two hits, two runs, and three RBIs), senior captain Renee Staude (one hit, two runs, one RBI), senior Katrina Raschi (a hit and an RBI), and freshman Carmen Diorio (one hit, a run scored, and an RBI).
Medford is 9-3 overall and 5-0 in the GBL.
