Local ‘Relay for Life’ Event June 4th
|Cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and neighbors will gather for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Medford/Somerville. Guests will hear how the community has benefited from funds raised, celebrate cancer survivors, honor loved ones in an emotional luminaria ceremony and learn how to “paint the world purple†to save lives from the disease.
Teams and individual participants can register on-site and donations will be accepted.
The event is taking place on Saturday, June 4 from 4:00 to 10:00 PM at Hormel Stadium.
Event entertainment will include Zumba, trivia, field games, Mix 104.1 ice cream truck, brand new theme laps, an art project and more.
This year’s theme is “Paint Your World Purple.” The color represents hope and embodies the power and promise of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement.
The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Relay For Life events are community gatherings where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Individuals and teams raise funds and awareness to help the American Cancer Society save more lives from cancer.
