Softball Team Advances in State Tournament- Updated

Update: Medford’s state tourney run ended with a 2-1 loss to Lexington on Tuesday afternoon

The Medford High School softball team has advanced to the quarter final round of the state tournament following a 3-2 home win over Boston Latin on Saturday. The Lady Mustangs, seeded fourth out of eighteen teams in North Division 1, are hosting fifth seed Lexington on Tuesday at 4:00 PM at Columbus Park. The winner will advance to the semi-final round, the first game of which is scheduled for June 11 at Martin Field in Lowell. Former Greater Boston League team Cambridge is also in the same bracket as Medford and will play the winner of the June 6 Beverly/Central Catholic game.
