Mayor Announces New Pool, Pond Rules
|Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke has made some changes to the city’s public pool and pond. The wading pool at the Tufts Pool will have extended hours, according to an announcement from the city. The extended hours are being piloted to determine demand for usage of the wading pool. Meanwhile, increased demand to access Wright’s Pond has led to the city’s decision to limit access once the parking lot is full. The city also intends to enforce a state regulation that mandates one lifeguard for every twenty-five swimmers. According to a statement on the city website, if the pond’s designated swimming area reaches capacity, lifeguards will ask people to voluntarily come out of the water so others can take a dip.
