Girls JV Soccer Team Opens Season With Win

The girls junior varsity soccer team kicked off its season with a 4-0 victory at Quincy High on September 8th. The Mustangs wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as sophomore forward Kayla Dell’Anno scored less than two minutes into the game. The Mustangs scored two goals in the first half and two goals in the second half as Nicole Greene, Amy Orcutt, and Audrey Soule netted the final three goals of the game. Goalies Sofia Bendok and Jaeda Hamel turned aside all the Presidents shots to pick up the shutout.

The following day the Lady Mustangs host the Beverly Panthers and came up on the short side of the score dropping the game 4-2. Eighth grader Amy Orcutt stayed hot adding goals #2 and #3 of the short season. The scoring was back and forth throughout the first half as the teams traded the first four goals of the game. The Panthers scored the game winning goal late in the first half and eventually added their fourth goal late in the game.

The junior varsity has three games this upcoming week as the travel to Austin Prep on Monday, host Everett on Thursday and play early Saturday morning at Methuen.

The junior varsity roster includes Sofia Bendok, Kayla Dell’Anno, Nicole Greene, Julianne D’Orazio, Samantha Liu, Morgan Adamos, Joyselen Lopes, Taheisha Joseph, Amy Orcutt, Emma Burke, Marisa MacGilvray, Audrey Soule, Ryleigh McLaughlin, Angelina Spinosa, Rachel Klein, and Jaeda Hamel.
