Bloomberg’s $50 Mil Gift is Largest Ever for Museum of Science

Medford native and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg was in the area on Tuesday to announce a $50 million gift to the Museum of Science. He was joined in a ceremony at the museum by Medford Public Schools Superintendent Roy Belson, MHS Principal John Perella, and the MHS Band. The billionaire philanthropist is pictured below in photos from the museum with his sister, Marjory Tiven. His gift is funding a new education center named after his parents.

Bloomberg’s fondness of the Museum of Science was worth a mention in his autobiography, a point that he discusses in the video below.
