Black History Presentation for Kids

Co-sponsored by the New England Alliance of Multiracial Families and the West Medford Community Center. Want to know what it was like in the not too distant past? Come hear Black History Month come alive as a community elder, Mr. William Humphrey, presents basic African-American history from a scientific point of view. He will also share some of his own experiences growing up in the segregated South, including a brief encounter with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Kid’s Day at Tufts University
9:00AM-3:30PM, Tufts University
More than 400 kids typically attend this free, fun-filled day of activities, including kiddy carnival rides, entertainment by Tufts student organizations, game booths, lunch and more. Tufts health services and public safety staff will be on hand to help ensure the well-being of participants. This year’s theme, “Under the Sea,” will feature various games and sports, as well as a chemistry presentation and other fun competitions. Information and registration packets have been sent home with children in the Medford and Somerville public schools. Paper registration forms are due by Friday, March 5. The online registration deadline is Friday, March 26.
