Starting today Medford Square will be abuzz with holiday activity and Robert Swierk, Ken Krause, and Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cheryl White decided to “clean house” before the guests arrived.
They encouraged businesses to tidy up their windows and recruited volunteers to do some sweeping and raking throughout the Square.
According to Swierk, the crew covered key areas along Riverside Avenue and Forest, Salem, High, and Main Streets, removing nine bags of leaves and litter.
Swierk said he hopes to make the clean up a semi-annual event that takes place around the holidays and during the spring.
Medford’s holiday festivities kick off tonight at City Hall at 4:30PM with a lighting ceremony and Jingle Bell Tree Festival and continue throughout the weekend. Click here for a complete schedule.
