‘Containerized’ Trash, Recycling Begins November 1
|New trash and recycling bins like the ones pictured above will be in use starting Monday, November 1, for the city’s new trash and recycling program. Each household received one 96 gallon recycling bin and one 64 gallon trash bin, with multi-family units each receiving a pair of bins.
The recycling bins came with either blue or green lids depending upon the neighborhood and pick-up schedule, which is not changing.
All recyclables can be placed in the new recycling bin and no longer need to be sorted. Click here to see a chart of recyclable items.
Wondering what to do with old recycling bins and trash cans? City officials say people can keep them to use for storage or they can be turned in on Saturday, November 13 between 8AM and 2PM at Medford City Hall. The city will recycle both plastic and metal trash cans and old recycling bins.
